Finishing My comic strip

This week is our last week to finish our comic strip. After we have finished we are going to be displaying them so the other students can we what we have done.

Plot: 

The protector dies and her daughter has to take over. She found a letter from her Mum before he passed saying that there will be danger coming. She also found a wand while packing her mum’s stuff. Her Mums was suppose to give it to her for her birthday. The time has come, danger was waiting for her. She took out the wand then a spirit came out and it was her Mum. she told her who she was going to face and it was her own sister wanting revenge. her Mum helps her fight her sister. They go to an empty field where they fought. She thought she defeats her and she returned to the village but little did she know her aunt was still alive...

For Health we are doing a statistical investigation.

I chose to do how many hours of sleep does the year 7/8 got, here are my results.

Salt

Today we talked and learnt about salt .I also learnt that a teenager need 1,500 mg of sodium per day. 

Having to much salt can make your heart work faster and can lead to stroke. Eating fresh fruits and vegetable can help you balance your salt, you can also not putting salt on your food.

This week we are making our own comics using Pixton. First, we made our avatar and then we started to make our comics. My comic is about my friend coming cover. The characters are me, Faye ( my friend) and My mum. what I would do differently is making more characters. Here is mine but it is still not finished.

The first explorer to arrive in New Zealand was Abel Tasman in 1642.                          Abel Tasman

He named New Zealand Nouvea Zealandia.

The next explorer to come to NZ was Captain James Cook and he arrived in 1769.

The navigator that helped Captain Cook was Tupaia.

The Europeans brought pigs, potatoes, ship rats and disease.

Adverbs

Adverbs give the reader more detail about actions.

For example, Yesterday I walked to the dairy.
Yesterday I walked quickly to the small dairy.

I added quickly and small to the sentence to give the reader more information.

The bird sang a song.
The small white bird gracefully sang a song.

The singer was good.
The beautiful singer was really good.

Sugar

6 is the maximum teaspoons of sugar that we should have daily.
It is healthier to eat oranges rather than drinking orange juice because it contains less sugar.
The three things to avoid eating less sugar is to not have a sugary drink before eating a meal, drinking more water and to drink less of thing that has sugar.
3 of the bad things that could happen to our bodies if we have to much of sugar is being obese, type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

Prior Knowledge: Before watching, what do you predict this movie might be about just from the title and the movie poster??????  I think that it is about an astronaut stranded in Mars.

What important events have happened? Record big moments as you watch. First, He needed to get water for the plants and he used their poop for the soil.  Then, He needed a heater but he can turn it on. The people in NASA saw things being moved around. Next, They have to figure out how to communicate with mark.

Ending: what happened?  Hermes made a plan to catch Mark, then the commander grabs him and they made their way to the ship. A few years later there was a new mission.  Did any of your predictions come true? I was right about a person being stranded in mars.
